Privacy Policy

Last updated March 12, 2026. This policy explains how the HalalScreen iOS app and the HalalScreen website handle data, permissions, subscriptions, waitlist signups, and deletion requests.

Short version

HalalScreen keeps core dhikr activity on your device. We do not sell personal information or run third-party ads inside the app.

Scope

This policy applies to the HalalScreen iOS application, the HalalScreen website at halalscreen.com, and related waitlist, referral, and support communications.

HalalScreen places a short dhikr gate before distracting apps. We collect as little data as possible, and the most sensitive activity stays with the user.

What We Collect

  • App data stored locally. HalalScreen stores app settings, selected dhikr phrases, repetition targets, streaks, summary statistics, and selected blocked-app configuration on the device or in local app-group storage used by widgets.
  • Limited sync data through Apple iCloud. Certain preferences and summary statistics may sync through your personal iCloud Key-Value storage so the app stays consistent across your Apple devices.
  • Waitlist, referral, and support information. If you join the waitlist, ask for updates, or email us, we may collect your email address, referral relationship, message contents, and the records needed to answer or fulfill that request.
  • Website analytics and attribution data. If website analytics are enabled, we may collect page views, referrers, campaign parameters such as utm_source, and basic interaction events so we can see which pages people visit and whether the waitlist form is being used.
  • Subscription and entitlement information. If you purchase or restore premium access, Apple and our subscription provider may share the transaction and entitlement details needed to validate that purchase.

We do not use HalalScreen to read the contents of your messages, photos, browsing, or activity inside the apps you choose to block.

Permissions and Sensitive Access

  • Screen Time / Family Controls permissions let HalalScreen apply and remove the app restrictions you choose. We use this access only to provide blocking and temporary unlocks.
  • Notifications are used for optional reminders, relock notices, and streak-related prompts if you allow them.
  • iCloud sync may be used by Apple to sync supported app settings and summary stats across your own devices.

We do not collect payment card numbers. Apple processes in-app purchases.

How We Use Data

  • to run the app's dhikr gate, streaks, widgets, reminders, and temporary unlock flow
  • to keep your settings and summary stats consistent across devices that use your Apple account
  • to manage waitlist signups, welcome emails, referrals, and support replies
  • to validate subscriptions, restore purchases, and prevent entitlement errors
  • to see how the website is being used and whether the waitlist flow is working, if analytics are enabled
  • to investigate abuse, keep the service working, and comply with legal obligations

How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information. We do not use third-party advertising SDKs in the app.

We may share limited information with the companies we use to run HalalScreen, including:

  • Apple for App Store distribution, in-app purchases, notifications, and any iCloud sync handled through your Apple account
  • RevenueCat for purchase validation, subscription status, and restore-purchase flows
  • Resend for waitlist and support email delivery
  • PostHog, if enabled on the website, for page analytics and waitlist attribution events
  • Vercel for website hosting and related operational logs

We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our terms, or to prevent harm, fraud, or abuse.

Data Retention

  • On-device app data remains until you remove it from the app, remove the app from your device, or Apple removes synced data associated with your iCloud account.
  • Waitlist and referral records are kept only as long as we need them to send updates, reply to support requests, or comply with legal requirements.
  • Subscription records may be retained by Apple and RevenueCat according to their own legal and operational requirements.
  • Analytics records are retained according to the settings of the analytics provider and as needed to diagnose site issues.

Your Choices and Controls

  • you can choose not to join the waitlist or request support by email
  • you can disable notifications in iOS settings at any time
  • you can manage subscriptions and renewals through your Apple App Store account
  • you can manage iCloud synchronization through Apple device settings
  • you can ask us to delete waitlist, referral, or support data we control by emailing info@halalscreen.com

Children's Privacy

HalalScreen is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the website or waitlist. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will review the request.

Contact and Policy Changes

If you have a privacy question, want to request deletion of data we control, or need clarification about this policy, email info@halalscreen.com.

We may update this policy as HalalScreen changes. If we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page.
